ECON 5520 - Advanced Public Economics Credits: 3 This course examines when and what policies maximize welfare, and their distributional impact. It addresses market failures and behavioral biases as potential justifications for government intervention. It also addresses preferences for redistributions, benefit-cost analysis, the economics of taxation, information and nudges.
Prerequisite: ECON 5010 , ECON 5020 or equivalent.
