The purpose of the Energy Resource Management minor is to provide students at the University of Wyoming the opportunity to learn about energy and expand their career opportunities. Students interested in business, economics, finance, engineering, sciences, political science, sociology, agriculture, and environment and natural resources should find this minor of interest.
Learning Outcomes
The Energy Resource Management minor will provide students with an understanding of the complex role energy plays by meeting the following learning outcomes.
1. Gain appreciation and understanding of fundamental concepts of energy systems.
2. Acquire a foundational understanding of the commercial aspects of energy industries.
3. Exhibit critical thinking and problem solving related to energy and environmental problems.
4. Apply knowledge of energy technology to societal problems requiring economic and policy analysis while working in a multidisciplinary environment.
General Policies
1. A minimum 2.00 UW GPA is required to apply for the minor.
2. It is the student’s responsibility to monitor requirements for the minor, along with their advisor.
3. Additional courses may be required to meet individual course prerequisites.
4. All classes in the minor must be passed with a grade of “C” or better.
