Plan A (Thesis)
The master of science degree normally is offered under Plan A which requires at least the university minimum degree requirements and an oral examination. An oral defense of the thesis is required. Plan B (Non-thesis)
Plan B is available under special circumstances and requires 30 hours of graduate coursework. Plan B candidates must also prepare one professional paper (i.e., content and form compatible with publication in a scientific journal) or, if the adviser requests, two professional papers in selected topic areas. An oral defense of the paper(s) is required. |
