HIST 5340 - The Social History of American Women Credits: 3 Explores the everyday life experiences of American women from the seventeenth century to the present with a focus on the complex influence of gender, race, and class in shaping those experiences. The course then turns to an analysis of the ways in which woman’s dissatisfaction with the position in society formed American feminism and lead to the formation or an organized women’s movement.
