PHCY 6482 - Introduction to Hospital Pharmacy Practice Credits: 4 Four-week rotation in hospital pharmacy practice completed under the guidance of a licensed pharmacist. Patient-care activities will include basic drug therapy and patient assessment, prospective drug utilization reviews, participating in the hospital’s medication distribution process, performing calculations, compounding preparations and understanding pharmacy’s role within the health-system through interdisciplinary interactions.
Prerequisite: grade of C or higher in PHCY 6352 and 6354 and satisfactory completion of all courses within the P1 curriculum (i. e. P2 standing).
