CHE 3072  - Techno-economic Analysis of Chemical Processes

Max Credit 3

Techno-economic Analysis (TEA) provides a method of evaluating the economic performance of processes common in typical chemical engineering operations, such as fossil resource refining, critical mineral separation, or biofuel production from algae or agricultural byproducts. It applies process design and modeling, equipment sizing and costing, operating costing, and cash flow analysis to quantify the economic characteristics of such processes.  Evaluation of risks via techniques such as Monte Carlo Simulation and presentation of results will also be covered.

Prerequisite: C or better in CHE 2005  and CHE 2060
