BOT 1000 - Plants, Women, and the Environment Credits: 3 Max Credit 3
This course introduces big-picture botanical concepts using an interdisciplinary approach to emphasize a woman’s role as environmental stewards, farmers, and activists. The course brings together theories of womanism, environmentalism, and development with gender in policy making. Case studies examine women’s agency and struggles as well as the growing importance of gender differences for specific issues such as climate change, agricultural production, disaster recovery, and water management.
