Agricultural Business, Livestock Business Management Option, B.S.

Build skills to work in any sector of the livestock and meat industry, from input suppliers to meat processing, by combining courses in farm and ranch management, finance and marketing, with animal, range and food science, biology, and data analysis.

Minimum Course Requirements
1A minimum of 42 credits must be at the 3000 and 4000 level for graduation. At least 30 of the 42 credits must be earned from UW.
- First-Year Seminar Credits: 3 2 (FYS)
- Human Culture Credits: 6 3 (H)
- U.S. & Wyoming Constitutions Credits: 3 (V)
- Electives Credits: 3-4
Writing - Communication: 9 Hours
2Must earn a “C” or better.
Quantitative (Q): 7 Hours
Science (PN): 8 Hours
3PN and H may not be fulfilled by AGEC or ECON courses.
Agricultural Economics: 31 Hours
431 credits in Ag Econ beyond those earned to satisfy University Studies requirements; 21 of these 31 credit hours must be earned at the 3000-4000 level.
Additional Quantitative Skills: 10 Hours
Biology of Livestock: 17 Hours
Additional Biology of Livestock
For Animal Science minor: 19 Hours
7Must earn a “C” or better in all courses required in the minor to earn the minor.
Supporting Economics: 3 Hours
Total: 120 Hours

5AGEC 4840 may not be double-counted towards both Agricultural Economics and Quantitative Skills.
6Suggest COSC 1200 for most, or IMGT 2400 (for advanced users).
