PHYS 2310 - Physics III: Waves and Optics Credits: 4 Third-semester course primarily for majors in physics, astronomy, engineering, mathematics, and other sciences. Includes Gaussian Optics and matrix calculations, wave equations, interference, superposition principle, elementary Fourier Analysis, Fraunhofer and Fresnel Diffraction, application to optical instruments.
Prerequisite: PHYS 1220 or PHYS 1320 or equivalent.
