HIST 5320 - Memory and National Identity in 20th Century Europe Credits: 3 Europe in the twentieth century saw a century of unprecedented violence. Examines the public representation of such historical trauma through the concept of “collective memory” and focuses in particular on how memory has become a contested part of defining national identity in modern-day Europe.
