Graduate Program in Nutrition and Dietetics
The Graduate Program in Nutrition and Dietetics is nationally accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. Entrance into the program is made only through an application process. Each prospective student will initially enter the undergraduate Human Nutrition and Food Dietetics Pathway. Internal applicants must apply to the GPND in the fall semester of their senior year. All academic requirements and supervised experiential learning hours must be completed before the student is eligible for the Registered Dietitian Nutritionists exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR), the credentialing agency for the Academy. This program provides the required dietetics coursework and supervised experiential learning hours required to become a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). Required Courses
Grade of C or better is required; students must maintain at least a 3.00 GPA while in the program. Supervised Experiential Learning Hours
SEL hours, also known as internship or rotation hours with other styles of programs, are hours completed at specific sites for experience in specific areas of dietetics. A preceptor at each site will help train and educate students. All academic requirements and supervised experiential learning hours must be completed before the student is eligible for the Registered Dietitian Nutritionist exam administered by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR). |
