Energy and Environmental Systems (EES)
EES graduates can become environmental scientists who collect and analyze samples of air, soil, and water to identify environmental impacts, resolve environmental threats, provide guidance on quality regulation, and manage natural resources.
The first year of law school (31 credits) applies toward both the B.S. and J.D. degrees. Students admitted to UW’s College of Law (COL) 3+3 program begin law coursework during what would traditionally be their senior year. For years 1-3 in the B.S., students must select one academic pathway: Energy and Environmental Systems or Professional Land Management. The requirements for the EES 3+3 program are outlined below:
- Students must complete a minimum of 85-95 credits by the end of their junior year, including all required general education (USPs) and major coursework. A total of 90 credits will be completed through COL. The B.S. in Energy Resource Management and Development (BS-ERMD) will be awarded upon completion of 120 total credit hours, including year one of COL coursework, with a minimum cumulative UW GPA of 2.0. Students must complete 42 upper-division (3000-level or above) credit hours, at least 30 of which must be earned at UW.
- During years 1-3 of the BS-ERMD program, students will be advised by the School of Energy Resources. During years 4-6 of the J.D. program, advising will be provided by COL.
