Energy and Petroleum Engineering, M.E.

The program, with an initial four specialization options in energy-related disciplines (Energy, Advanced Drilling, Data Analytics, Blockchain) is a direct response to the high demand of the Energy and Petroleum industry worldwide to employ graduates with these skills.

Curriculum Map and Program Structure

  • Students enrolled in the MEng program will need to complete 30 credits (typically, 10 courses of 3 credits each) to graduate.
  • Students with a bachelor’s degree in petroleum engineering shall select a minimum of five (5) specialized courses from a list of core courses under each discipline and the remaining courses can be taken as technical electives in the department or from other programs across campus. Students with other engineering or related science backgrounds will be required to take five (5) graduate courses in Petroleum Engineering as electives in addition to the five (5) core courses in their specialized area.
  • In some cases, and, if one without a prior degree in petroleum engineering, provides adequate evidence of past training or industry experience in the petroleum industry, the number of petroleum engineering electives may be reduced to allow for more courses in the specialized discipline.
