Major Requirements
The B.A. in African American and Diaspora
Studies consists of 35 credit hours: Core Courses
15 credit hours of core course
requirements: Lower Division Course
- 3 credit hours of a lower division (1000- or 2000- level) AAST course (excludes core courses)
Upper Division Courses
- 6 credit hours of upper division (3000- or 4000-level) AAST courses - internships are highly recommended
Lower Division or Upper Division AAST Course
- 3 credit hours of a lower division or upper division AAST course (excludes core courses)
Foreign Language
- 8 credit hours of a single foreign language
