The University of Wyoming offers world-class research and education opportunities for its graduate students, yet our small size means that every student receives personal attention and engaged mentorship. With more than 900 graduate assistantship positions and numerous scholarship and other financial aid opportunities, UW can help you step into graduate school in a way that doesn’t break the bank and that positions you for a lifetime of financial and personal success. UW welcomes graduate and professional students from diverse backgrounds. We have dedicated funding programs for students who have overcome adversity and achieved academic success and formal professional development programs to support diverse students. With more than 100 graduate programs to choose from there is a place at UW for you.

How Do I Get Admitted?

Each graduate program has its own admission requirements, application processes and deadlines. You MUST contact your graduate program directly to inquire about specific requirements and processes. Some programs admit new graduate students to start only in the fall semester. Admission decisions will be made by the respective graduate programs and eligibility for enrollment will be verified by the UW Admissions Office, including the receipt of all needed official transcripts and documents. Students not admitted, or who do not wish to pursue immediate admission to a graduate program may choose to pursue graduate coursework as a non-degree seeking graduate student. Be sure to check with Admissions to learn more about the limitations of this option.

International Student Requirements:

In addition to completing your academic program’s requirements, all international students must provide the following:

  • Official Academic Transcripts
  • Financial Statement
  • English Proficiency
