Beginning with the history of relevant areas of human biology, provides extensive discussion of such areas as paleoanthropology, primatology, and human variation. Also includes detailed theoretical examinations of topics within hominid evolution, the concept of race and sociobiology.

Prerequisite: first year anthropology graduate student standing.
