This course examines the relationships between language and race in a complex world. It is premised upon the recognition that power is exercised through language. Since we articulate identities largely through language, dimensions such as ethnicity, race, and caste can be explored through linguistic practices. 

Prerequisite: ANTH 1200 or ANTH 2000
